When was the last time you tried something new?

For Kayin and me, I feel like were always trying something new. We're seemingly always moving to a different city (both of us have lived in 5 different cities), always starting a new job or fellowship, and always on the go. However, even for us, the past year has brought more "newness" than we've ever had. We got married, moved to a new state, and Kayin started working as an attending after training or a million years.

For those who have asked, I've been very honest about how hard the adjustment to metro-Atlanta has been. Nothing against Atlanta, but I LOVED Chicago! It's beautiful downtown, amazing food, constant commotion, and yes, even the frigid winters. But mostly, I loved my life as a yoga instructor, teaching weekly classes around the city.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized I was grieving my old life!

The grief started early when I didn't get a job at LifeTime fitness as a yoga instructor, due to my limited availability. People would say, "you just need to get back to teaching," without realizing I tired....but was rejected.

The pity party of this blog post stops here

After not getting that yoga job and not finding a yoga class I enjoyed, I decided to make a

Facebook post asking people who wanted to come to a free outdoor class. I found a spot at a beautiful local park nearby that could hold about 10-15 yoga mats. I expected five or six people to attend, so figured that was plenty of space. Guys, FOURTEEN people showed up. I'm still overwhelmed with gratitude just thinking about it. Now, I've decided to teach classes weekly.

I'm feeling so motivated! I still love Chicago, but I'm starting to love the life I'm creating in Georgia just as much.
